What does it take to create good graphic design?
It requires an understanding of the elements and principles of graphic design.

What is the difference between elements and principles?
Elements are the components we add into graphic design, principles tell us how we should organize those elements.

Name the six (6) elements of design.
The six elements of design are line, shape/form, space, texture, value and color.

What can lines aid in, when alone or combined with  other lines or shapes?
Alone, or combined with other lines or shapes, can aid in the readability, appearance and message of a design.

Which lines suggest a feeling of rest? Why do you think?
Horizontal lines suggest a feeling of rest because they are sideways which gives the feeling as if you were laying down.

Vertical lines communicate a feeling of what? Why do you think?Vertical lines give feeling of height because the lines are long and can reach far up.

What lines suggest a feeling of movement? Why do you think?
Wiggly lines because they are seem to be moving like the waves of water.

Soft, shallow curved lines suggest what? Why do you think?
The suggest a softer, more delicate feeling because they are more soft and shallow.

These lines suggest confusion and turbulence? Why do you think?Curves because they jut out all over the place and sometimes look out of place.

What element defines a specific area of space? What is the difference between two dimensional shapes and three dimensional shapes?
Shapes define a specific area of space because shapes are used to form a lot of things. The difference between three dimensional shapes and two dimensional shapes are that two dimensional shapes lie on one plane while three dimensional shapes stand out and have more form.

Describe the difference between geometric shapes and organic shapes?
Geometric shapes have symmetry like most common shapes but organic shapes aren't man-made and have no boundaries or qualifications.

What are abstract shapes?
Abstract shapes are simple versions of organic shapes.

Which basic shape projects an attitude of honesty or equality?
Squares project an attitude of equality because all sides, angles and corners are equal.

What do triangles suggest?
Triangles suggest action and movement.

Circles convey feelings of what?
Circles convey a feeling of never-ending and infinity.Describe positive space and negative space?  What is texture? Incorporating texture into a design can help do what? What is value?
Positive space is space where any item or element can exist. Negative space is where the eye isn't attracted to anything and is at rest. Texture is how an item looks and feels to the viewer, incorporating texture into design helps give overall shape and value to an item. Value is light, shading and gradation all put together in one
What is another name for value?  What can the element of color do when incorporated into a design?
The other name for value is tone. The element of color can make a design stand out.
